Welcome by EG

Discussed the agenda and councillors decided on Forest School and the Playground as areas they wanted to talk about.

Forest School

  • We discussed the new ‘classroom’ being built in Forest School and councillors were happy that this could mean they could go out in all weathers.
  • Y2 councillors put forward a desire to go to Forest School more often and also would like more campfire sessions.

Playground

  • Discussed whether there could be more climbing/play equipment built in the playground e.g. monkey bars and ladders.
  • Suggestion for there to be times where Junior school children could come to play in the playground and have a role similar to Friendship Heroes if there are children struggling to find someone to play with.
  • An area dedicated to dancing.

Councillors then fed back ideas from their prospective classes about what the potential reward could be for reaching the Gold token line. Suggestions were:

  • A movie afternoon,
  • A teddy day
  • Arts/crafts day
  • Use of iPads

Councillors were also asked to feed back about careers their classes were interested in so we could get visitors in to talk about them. They suggested:

  • Doctor
  • Biologist – e.g. David Attenborough
  • Policeman
  • Footballer
  • Librarian
  • Optometrist

The ideas for rewards and career visitors with be fed back Miss Dixie.

Councillors will discuss these subjects further with their classes to come up with any further ideas.
