Brought into the same Dance scheme as Crofton Junior School. I lead a training session on this at the start of the academic year.

 Funding allocated:  £350

The Dance plans are easily accessible for teaching staff to use and adapt for the needs of their individual classes. The new scheme has resource files, which provide inspirational teaching ideas, and lesson plans, which explain techniques and strategies. The new scheme is also in line with the Junior school so children will be using the same scheme from Reception to Year

Professional Development and training for teachers and TAs. For Games we are using coaches to coteach with staff. Coaches co teach with teachers for 3 lessons to gain confidence and skills knowledge, then teachers teach the last 3 sessions independently building on what has been done previously. Plans are for 6 weeks and have clear skill progression.

Funding allocated:

Teachers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to confidently teach a variety of games and other sports. Using the coaches at the start of each sport gives teachers opportunity to learn from them and then develop, adapt and use what they have learnt from the coaches when teaching independently. Children are directly impacted by the improved standard of teaching. Children are then prepared to progress in these skills learnt at the Infant school when the move up to the Junior school as this scheme is also used by the Junior school so children will be using the same scheme from Reception to Year 6.

Once teachers have gained knowledge and confidence in a variety of Games teaching they then have these skills to use and develop further in their teaching. The children will be directly impacted by improved teaching provided in house by our own staff, who will have gained confidence and knowledge to provide a higher standard of PE teaching. This training will be ongoing and

will include some different sports each year so teachers have a diverse repertoire of teaching skills.

Sports Week includes three days where we invite a range of coaches in to provide lessons for the children in sports they may not have tried before.

Funding  allocated:

£4265

Every student has the opportunity to participate in all of the sports which include hula hooping, gymnastics, boot camp, team

building, skipping and orienteering. This provides a taste of sports they would possibly not usually try. promoting good selfesteem, team work, fair play, cooperation, skill development and confidence. The children are highly motivated and learn through enjoyment and fun. Staff also use this as CPD training in the teaching of various sports as they are learning skills and ideas from professional coaches.

This provides opportunities for every child, whatever their ability to have fun in a wide variety of sporting situations. It instils self-confidence and motivation at an early age which is a basis for continued positive outlook and attitude. Children will experience different sports which will inspire them to take these up in the future.  This is also sustainable for staff as CPD training as they will be observing and participating in a wide variety of new sports. This is seen as an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of sports and how to develop and use these when teaching both in small games situations. And across the rest of the PE curriculum. They are encouraged to observe the coaches and teachers very carefully in order to get ideas for teaching and coaching points for skills which teachers can then use in their future PE lessons.

To provide an opportunity for all pupils to experience a wide variety of sports.

Having a block of 6 tennis sessions for each year group taught by a professional tennis coach. Teachers are encouraged to participate and co-teach alongside the tennis coach.

Funding allocated:  £390

Both pupils and teachers are exposed to a sport that we do not normally cover in depth in EYFS and KS1. It gives the children a chance to develop and hone their hand-eye co-ordination skills and introduces them to a form of racket sport.

Children will experience a different sport which could inspire them to try again in the future. This is also sustainable for staff as CPD training as they will be observing and participating in the Tennis sessions. This is seen as an opportunity to broaden staff knowledge of Tennis and observe the professional coaches to get ideas for teaching and coaching points for skills which teachers can then use in their future PE lessons.
