The ideal candidate will almost certainly be working in a school office already and will be looking to further their school career.   Crofton is a very large, six form entry school, so they will need to be prepared for an incredibly busy environment where you can never be quite certain what the day might bring!   There is a very supportive administrative team, always willing to help one another.

LEARNING MENTOR – CROFTON JUNIOR SCHOOL

 

Our Junior School Team are looking for a friendly outgoing individual to join our dedicated team of education providers.

 

We are looking to recruit a Learning Mentor from our already experienced staff that could undertake the following:

  • Liaise with the leadership team and teachers on the requirements of children specifically with additional needs
  • Work with the leadership team on behaviour issues, use restorative justice with children and liaise with parents where necessary.
  • Identify those children who would benefit from a friendship group and monitor, support and encourage children within this group
  • Be able to undertake specific testing for dyslexia, speed of processing, working memory and phonological awareness, report these findings back to managers, teachers and parents
  • Help to gather evidence for identified children for access arrangements for KS2 SATs using NCA tools
  • Support the running of an intervention group for those children with autism, and support other staff in modelling learning activities within the classroom
  • Organise the Midday Meals supervisor rota’s and meet with them regularly to up-date them on any particular problem areas or children having difficulties
  • Cover classes within years 3-6 as and when required

Pre-School Practitioner

                       

Salary:                        £3,448 per annum

Job Type:                   10 hours per week, term time only

Working Pattern:      Permanent, term time only 7.30 – 9.30am

Due to the increasing number of children on role at our St George’s Pre-school, Connect Schools Academy Trust are looking to recruit an inspirational Pre-School Practitioner to join the team.  St George’s opened in September 2018 and is a ‘pack away’ setting which is a spacious and well equipped environment.

 The Trust provides regular training and development opportunities and also considers the well-being of their staff by offering a well-being day and other incentives to staff completing their probationary period. 

Applications from non-qualified individuals, with experience will be considered for this role. 

Candidates must have: 

  • Experience of working in a relevant setting or working with children of a similar age
  • Have some understanding of the foundation stage curriculum
  • Be confident working with groups of children, on a one to one basis and children with special needs
  • Have an understanding of child protection procedures
  • Have a current paediatric first aid certificate or willing to undertake training
  • Be friendly and outgoing
  • Able to work as a member of the team

Breakfast & After School Club Assistants

Due to growing popularity of our Breakfast and After School provision we will be opening our Junior school club up to more children.

 

We are looking for staff that can work between 7.30 -9.00am and 2.45 – 5.30/6.30pm and welcome applications from candidates who can cover both breakfast and after school or just breakfast or after school.

 

You must be a friendly, outgoing individual who enjoys working with children and working in a team.  You would be joining our existing well established team of Play Workers in providing a fun and safe environment for all the children that attend.

 

You should:

 

  • be committed to ensuring a safe and fun environment for children
  • be first aid trained or willing to undertake training
  • be able to work as part of a team
  • hold an NVQ Level 2/3 in childcare
  • have a willingness to undertake training as required
  • be able to communicate well with children and adults
  • have a good sense of humour

Our Infant School Team are looking to recruit an individual support assistant at the Infant school on a fixed term contract for one year. 

The successful candidate will be supporting a child within the classroom setting with their learning and will be required to provide intimate care as and when it is required throughout the school day.

You should be sensitive to the child’s needs and be mindful of your duty of care towards the child and yourself ensuring that the environment is safe whilst undertaking intimate care.

The successful applicant should: 

  • Have previous experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school or special needs setting
  • Have previous intimate care experience
  • Have had or willing to undertake moving and handling training
  • Be sensitive to the child’s needs and deal with this confidentially
  • Have good mathematics and English
  • Have good behaviour management skills
  • Be able to communicate well with children with additional needs, parents and colleagues
  • Be able to adapt activities towards child’s learning abilities
  • Be flexible
  • Have a sound knowledge and understanding of the safe guarding of children
  • Be forward thinking and proactive
  • Have a good sense of humour 

You will be expected to support the child during some of the lunchtime period and will receive a mid-morning comfort break and have a half an hour lunch break
