 TEACHING ASSISTANT/HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT – CROFTON INFANT SCHOOL

Our Infant School Team are looking for a friendly outgoing individual to join our dedicated team of education providers.

We are looking to recruit a teaching assistant/HLTA at the Infant school for 13 hours and 45 minutes TA and 15 hours HLTA (28 hours & 45 minutes) per week.

You will be a class TA working with the class teacher to support learning within the classroom environment including split input teaching and working with targeted groups of children.

As a HLTA you will provide teachers with cover for their release times, PPA and staff absence.  You will be able to claim the difference in the TA/HLTA rate for additional cover if your HLTA hours are over the expected 15 hours per week.

The successful applicant should: 

  • Have previous experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school setting
  • Have good mathematics and English
  • Have good behaviour management skills
  • Be able to communicate well with children, parents and colleagues
  • Be able to adapt activities towards child’s learning abilities
  • Flexible
  • Pro-actively seek out teachers to talk over lesson plans
  • Be able to source equipment for planned and ad-hoc lessons
  • Have a sound knowledge and understanding of the safe guarding of children
  • Be forward thinking and proactive
  • Have a good sense of humour and be ready to dress up for various events including world book day

Pre-School Practitioner

                       

Salary:                        National Minimum Wage

Job Type:                   15 hours per week, term time only

Working Pattern:     

Permanent, term time only 9.30 - 12.30

Due to the increasing number of children on role at our St George’s Pre-school, Connect Schools Academy Trust are looking to recruit an inspirational Pre-School Practitioner to join the team.  St George’s opened in September 2018 and is a ‘pack away’ setting which is a spacious and well equipped environment.

 

The Trust provides regular training and development opportunities and also considers the well-being of their staff by offering a well-being day and other incentives to staff completing their probationary period.

 

Applications from non-qualified individuals, with experience will be considered for this role.

 

Candidates must have:

 

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in early years
  • Experience of working in a relevant setting
  • Have an understanding of the foundation stage curriculum and effective planning around the curriculum
  • Be confident working with groups of children, on a one to one basis and children with special needs
  • Have an understanding of child protection procedures
  • Have a current paediatric first aid certificate or willing to undertake training
  • Be friendly and outgoing
  • Able to work as a member of the team
